LindaLando
Fine Art evolved from the Alex Fraser Galleries, which was established in
Vancouver in 1940, after a number of successful years on Bond Street in
London, England. While acquainting himself with local artists and the
Canadian art scene, Alex Fraser continued to focus on European Art, a
phase of the business which would eventually be replaced with an
historical Canadian art specialization.
By 1950 Alex Fraser had firmly ensconced himself in the Canadian market
representing many well-known local artists such as Peter Ewart, Allen
Sapp, and W.J. Phillips. The gallery was also developing a reputation for
paintings by historical Canadian masters.
In 1985 Linda Lando purchased the gallery business, a natural move
after working in the Canadian art sector for over ten years. Linda
continued with the business as Alex Fraser Galleries building up the
clientele of historical collectors as well as adding more contemporary
artists to the gallery walls.
In 2000,
with the new millennium, the gallery was given a new name, LindaLando Fine
Art. This title came at the repeated requests of clients, collectors, and
artists, and represented a renewed vigor and the ability to offer expanded
services on the part of the gallery. These new services include a
commitment to art education, an integral part of collecting.
Today LindaLando Fine Art is still located in the heart of Kerrisdale
offering unique and personal services for collectors, artists, and art
lovers. The gallery is warm and inviting, a characteristic valued by its
owner. In order to expand without losing any services or the welcoming
environment, the gallery now offers electronic access to its inventory, a
benefit available both remotely and on-site.
The future
also holds wonderful promise. We hope that the web site will bring more
people to the gallery and offer unlimited exposure for our very worthy
artists. Most of all we look forward to providing superlative service
within the Canadian art sector. Please don’t hesitate to contact or
visit the gallery. Art lovers, artists, and collectors - all are welcome.
