Artist Statement

"My oil paintings are inspired by a personal philosophy that is aimed at bringing joy to the heart, and by an optimistic nature which draws inspiration from a multiplicity of environments. Whether it is florals, landscapes or people, my subject matter is taken from glimpses of what fascinates and captivates me. When painting I apply layers of radiant colour with creative energy that give my canvases their vigor, vitality and excitement. I let the work evolve using colour to express light, represent mass and evoke mood. Painting every day, my impressionistic style has evolved through training, study and experimentation. People are attracted to my paintings because they capture a quality or moment, and convey the pleasure and satisfaction I find in moving paint around."
